Description of the project:
The project “Training on Conflict Resolution Approaches for Youth workers” was addressed the needs of 26 youthworkers from 8 Partners NGOs (from Estonia, Poland, Germany, Spain, Cyprus, Greece, Slovenia, Italy). Nineteen of them face fewer opportunities and expressed interest to join an international activity/training in order be further developed on conflict resolution/management and inclusive practices for:
- a) supporting and motivating their youngsters behave responsibly and being active citizens.
- b) understanding stages of conflicts and apply conflict techniques to manage them. This way they will reduce acts of stereotypes and social exclusion.
- c) be more efficient with their approach when working with their youngsters.
Therefore through this project and Activity we will provide means, methods, examples, practices and share ideas through joyful learning using NF approaches in order to empower them with the development of their basic key competences and with the increase their self confidence.
The project was also connected to the priorities of E+ because it supports mobility of youthworkers with fewer opportunities for personal and professional development. Also through this, it will be promoted intercultural dialogue and respecting of diversity. As a result youthworkers turned into multipliers of basic fundamental issues for solidarity and cooperation and reduce of conflict and marginalization in their youthwork but also in macrolevel in wider lifelong community.
Our project managers and trainers:
- implemented tools and methods basically from Non Formal Learning (like simulations, outdoor activities, debriefing, case studies, Role Plays, Theatre based sessions, reflection etc)
- promoted visibility and disseminate along with all partner organizations the power of E+ programme and results;
- brought and establish a stable and fruitful impact to the pax, to their organizations, to local, regional and wider LLL Society.
Objectives of the Training for yw with fewer opportunities:
- To increase, through NFL activities, the skills and competences of 26 yw on conflict resolution and conflict management in order to facilitate their daily work with and in their local community.
- To develop self-confidence of 26 yw on how to solve unexpected conflicts and acts of discrimination within their practice. Self confidence will be achieved through the new methods, presentations, teamwork and transmitted to the specific target groups;
- To create products and Tools, as good examples of cooperation, that will support conflict resolution and management, which will be disseminated to local and international Youth field to enhance solidarity and inclusion.
- To increase awareness on the importance of the implementation of social inclusion practices in the youthwork as an ally to conflict management. Dealing with diversity, asks a high level of awareness which will be totally increased mainly during the activities: “Stages of Conflict”, “conflict management techniques” and “nuclear factory debate”.
- To train 26 yw to develop strategies and activities to tackle conflicts and empower solidarity in their community especially when dealing with inactive youths, stereotypes and diversity.
The result from the project is Booklet about conflict resolution managed by participants by themselves during the TC.

PROJECT DIARY – IMPLEMENTATION WORK PLAN
Day 1 – Intensive day – 26 August 2018
We started day with the energizer and go on with the with the team introduction. Then we proceed with the games that to get to know each other better (names, hobbies, interests etc).
After coffee-tea break we had “mission is possible” and that was part of the team-building, which all of us succeeded.
The second part of the day was focused on the Erasmus+ programme. Main aims, priorities of it and also aims of this project. Then we moved with the personal aims, expectations and discovered option as “Suggestion box” where we can write our suggestions and things, which we want to contribute.
The day ends with the introduction of the project topic. The last part was reflection, which is the very important part of the each day.
Day 2 – let’s go deeper to the topic 27 August 2018
Top 10 – first step that to start a day. Then, according to the feedback from the 1st day we go ahead with the team-building game “Traffic jam”. Many open questions and thoughts about cooperation. Later we proceed with the facing conflict and the question “What can I do?”. We started to think about our values and why it is important. Then trainers prepared for us such methods as “Orange”, “Frozen pics” and “Case studies” that to go deeper to the topic content.
The second part of the day we go deeper with work as a team for the change. Had task with the video and later had option to take a look a result. Day ends with the harmonization and Clarification to basic Project principles and we had option to recognize are we are on in the topic or no?

Day 3 – almost on the way to recognize the meaning of the conflict. 28 August 2018
“Top 10” our traditional competition at the beginning of a day + feedback from the day before according to the reflection.
We proceed with the theoretical information about the stages of the conflict and then had opportunity to practice them all and try to recognize in the reality. We go ahead with the method “Elevator speech” – nice combination between debates + debriefing.
The second part of the day we spent for exploring methods “Active listening” and “Mediation”. Then we had option to test received theoretical material in practice.
At the end of the day we had meditation about the comfort place. Each person had a special journey to the ideal protected zone where no problems exists, no stress and negative feelings. After the meditation to participants provided opportunity to draw their imagination on the paper and then had a deep conversation with the body. For the help in the conversation by trainers were offered additionally supporting questions. Evening programme continued intercultural evening. We had presentation from Greece, Slovenia, Germany and Spain.
Day 4 – from the theory to action 29 August 2018
“Top 10” our traditional competition at the beginning of a day + feedback from the day before according to the reflection. Nothing changed in traditions of the morning.
Then after the dancing energizer participant Kristina managed her suggestion and realize in action game “Secret friend”.
We proceed with the work in the mini groups on the games creation according to the topic of the project. Each group needed to manage to the Word document with description three different types of games (energizer, name game and team-building) and later implement them in action for the rest of the group.
During the testing participants had opportunity to correct some aspects of the game and also received the feedback for the future improvement. Some teams were able to implement just two games instead of three but the idea was clear in total.
The second part of the day we spent time for work on the BOOKLET, which we hope will become as a visual result from our training course. This time work in mini groups become harder as trainers also provided for us a lot of support materials which we needed to read through and make decisions for the booklet. Work is not finished yet and we will have time to fulfill our documents that to combine them to one productive booklet.
After the intensive day we had reflection in the big group that to share about the feelings and thoughts.
Evening programme continued intercultural evening part 2. We had presentation from Estonia, Italy, Cyprus and Romania.

Day 5 – trip to the Estonian traditional open air Museum.
Day 6 – day of contribution

Then after the energizer when we switched brains on we proceed with the work in the mini groups on the BOOKLET. The common result of it would be combined in one document and managed by trainer Darja Djatsenko during 2 month. This booklet we can use later in action and disseminate in different cases.
After coffee/tea break we had opportunity to present sending NGO or personal sphere or work. This opportunity was helpful that to see the potential of participants, inspire each other and build partnerships for the future cooperation.
Second part of the day we go ahead with the “Top 10” game and after presentations of NGO. Then had option to ask more additional questions connected with cooperation.
Then participants had opportunity to contribute their methods in action, which belongs to the non-formal education and project topic.
Started Fiona and she proposed “Human Towers” – tradition from her region, which works as a team-building activity.
We proceed with the conflict resolution method implemented by Ivan. Then Magdalena showed some practical methods of reflection and group dynamic. The end of the session of contribution managed Chiara who presented method of non-formal communication, which perfectly fit to the topic social inclusion.
After the intensive day we had reflection on the typical system as self-assessment, in a couples and in the mini groups.
Day 7 – day of evaluation and reflection.

Then after the energizer from Daniel who tried to energize people who were totally out of concentration. On the first part of the day we had special quests Aleksandra Makarova and Olga Sokolova from Youth Club Active who presented the long-term KA2 project “First ADR Kit”. For participants were provided first of all information about all of the stages of the project and then implemented one of the workshops from the Handbook of this project.
After coffee/tea break we had opportunity become aware about the meaning of 8 key competences and learn more about the YouthPass as a tool for self-assessment.
Second part of the day we go ahead with the last part of the project – evaluation. Evaluation consists in 3 levels.
First level – official evaluation. Participants had opportunity to leave there feedback to trainers, to Erasmus+ programme and evaluation in generally total learning process through the whole project.
Second part was connected with feeling and emotions through the project. For that by trainers were used method “Dixit cards”where each participant received his/her special magic card of the project emotions.
Third part “Dolls from the strings” where each participant received special doll and opportunity to share direct with each participants with the messages and good words.
At the end of the day participants received sweet and cute dinner all together. With the champagne and nice atmosphere we discovered the score of the game “Top 10”, then shared secret friends and have YouthPass certification.
