“Building bridges for Human Rights education”
The project was aimed at bringing together two organisations working in youth field – Youth Club Active and AIESEC in Estonia. The topic for cooperation was Human Rights, how to promote it as well learning new methods for teaching the topic. In frames of the project we had two meeting where we exchanged our knowledge and previous experiences related to the topic and a third not so much a meeting – a big Human Library event organised in cooperation of both organisations.
First meeting was an introductory to the project. We presented to each other our organisations and introduced the project, afterwards we made arrangements for the second meeting where we deepened into the topic of Human Rights and how it is taught and promoted in our areas moreover we overviewed the method of Human Library, shared our previous experience and divided the responsibilities for the upcoming event. Both meetings took place in Youth Club Active, using non formal methods such as games and group discussions. As for the result of the project we had a Human Library event that took place in TalTech University and organised by joint efforts of Youth Club Active and AIESEC in Estonia. The event was held primarily in English as there were many international participants aka readers from the university and also from a different project. As for future plans we are encouraged to use the gained knowledge from the projects to organise more quality Human Library events and to promote Human Rights in our organisations.
