Why do volunteering?

Local volunteering is about helping others by giving your own time to a good cause. As well as benefiting yourself by having the chance to demonstrate your talents and develop new skills.
It helps you create a positive impression, makes you more innovative, creative and gives you a range of useful skills.
Volunteering allows you to make a make a difference to something that is important to you as well as having the opportunity to give back to the community and supporting others along the way.
Whether you are a young person or somebody with the time to commit, volunteering to something that you are interested in can open you up to further opportunities.

Who can be a volunteer?

Anyone, whatever your age, back ground or work experience, you will have a skill that someone needs. For some, community volunteering can be a route to employment, or a chance to try something new which may lead to a career change.
